We have a female Maltese, Liberty. She is 4 years old and I do know what you are saying. We finally gave up and allow her to sleep with us every night. We really do not mind this lack of privacy. Anyways' if you have not been able to resolve this issue, I would be happy to take your puppy off your hands. I think Liberty would love a playmate. Let me know.

:My husband and I got our very first dog ever two days ago... a 6 week old adorable maltese puppy...It was an impulsive decision... I couldn't resist that little face... but we have NO idea what we're doing since we weren't exactly prepared... The puppy is amazing during the day she is palyful at times and a sweet little angel napping on our laps while we pet her... the major problem is at night - She has a crate that we have made into a little home for her which she actually likes - she sometimes goes into it on her own to play... but at night when we are ready to go to sleep and put her in there she goes insane -she barks and howels so loud for 7-9 hours straight without stopping! she may fall asleep for 15 minutes but then she will get up and bark again all night long without stop. We have kept lights on, put soft music on, slept in the same room with her so she can see us, but nothing has helped... we love that little pup but our life had dramatically changed for the worst and we are about to be thrown out of our apt building because of the continous awful barking for hours on end and our cranky neighbours. We are considering sending her back because we cannot deal with the night non-stop barking - will this get better? we feel like we tried everything and nothing is working...we are forced to be on her schedule as I am now completely sleep deprived and falling asleep with my pup on the couch - I feel like I am living in a vey expensive dog house and living by her rules.. help.
