My white and black Shih Tzu always had staining under her eyes, streaking down her face, and around her genitals.  Her Vet diagnosed Allergies and prescribed "Hydroxyzine".  -  No more staining!

: I'm sure this question has been posted and answered but I am unable to find exactly what I'm looking for in the archives. I have a 2 year old Maltese who has always had very bad tear staining. She also stains down in her growing area (not sure how else to phrase that!). I would assume that it has something to do with diet or water. She is on very good dog food and I am going to try bottled water for a while but was wondering if anybody else knew what could be causing this. Somebody told me to give her a combination of vitamins she may be lacking (I'm not even sure what they were). Any advise would be great and Thanks in advance!
