I too thought I wanted a "teacup" maltese.  I just got my baby, Rocco a few days ago and have already had him to 3 vets, including one ER.  I'm so scared.  I bought from a puppy store (big no no, come to find out) and Rocco is so tiny, only 14oz.  He wont eat and I have to nurse him with puppy milk and a tiny bottle.  Please realize that while it might be cute to have a really tiny dog, its not worth the heartbreak.  I wish I had known.  I only hope my baby will be OK and start eating soon.  Good Luck
