: I have a 14 month female maltipoo that is trained to use a litter box (small dog size box from Petco lined with newspaper). I live in a condo in Seattle and felt that that indoor potty training would be the best for both of us. Consistency is the key. It took Zoey almost a year to reliably go in her box all the time, and I started training her from the time she was 10 weeks old. Crating at night is a good idea and then putting her on the pads first thing in the morning and saying "Go potty" over and over and then treating her once she goes. You can also regulate her food and water. If you your pup access to water every few hours and then 30 minutes after drinking you should put her back on the pads and do the same "Go potty" routine again. You will just have to do this day after day, week after week and month after month until she finally gets it. Zoey is really good about using her box, and when I know it's time for her to go all I have to do it point at the box and say, "Go potty Zoey!" and she runs, jumps in the box and does her thing. Good luck.

: : We have a 7mth old Maltepoo and she is still not potty trained completely. We tried the potty pads and she would not use them, so I gave up. I do take her out to the same place everytime and she goes instantly, but it's like we can't get her to hold it. I encorage her with treats or lot's of praise when she goes outside. When we first brought her home we crated her at night and took her out in the morning. We thought she was doing really good, so we aloud her to sleep in the bed with us. Then I found some spots that she did in the middle of the night while we where sleeping and they dried before we found them. So we have had to crate her again. She stays at my mother-in-law's during the day and she is still leaving stool samples in the house. I am at my whits end and not sure what to do from here. It would be really nice if we could get her to use the potty pads, but is it too late to train her on those. How do you possibly get her to use them?! We live in Oregon and it rains ALOT, so this would be nice, not only on me but her pretty little coat=D as well. Pleeeese help me!
