Why not try a soft muzzle? I see them used at the groomers and the vets. There's nothing wrong with them. I would also give your dog a treat afterwards. This way he will start relating the experience with something pleasant. Good luck

: Sorry to hear about your experience. If you insist and reas sure him he can get used to it. If you stop after his first reaction, he's in control. My boy gave me a hard time at first, but now he comes to me when some gets stuck. Also, try spraying the are with a good moisturizer. That, and keeping the area trimmed really helps. Good Luck, Angie

: : On occas sion our male 2yr Maltese,"Ashes" will have some residue around his anus after a bowel movement. I cleaned him up once in the sink with warm water and paper towel. He let me know in no uncertain terms I was in dangerous tert itory. He bit my hand, not serious, but nevertheless a bite, and that ends that. Aside from turning a hose on him or taking him to have him bathed, does anybody have any solutions. I will not try to clean him up again. I am with him constantly, all day, every day and we have a great realtionship. He sleeps with me so we are great buddies, and he's smart. Thanks Tom
