1. 20 Years of Breeding Maltese!
   
   After getting lost in our work for so long, we looked up and realized all of a sudden--hey, we've been breeding Maltese for twenty years now! It was January, 1987 when Donna Kelly purchased our first Maltese puppy--a female, which she named Kelly's Princess Penelope. The name turned out to be appropriate, as she truly became the queen of the Kellys Maltese kingdom. She is the ancestor of most of our Champion dogs and bitches, and as you'll see in the next article, her line lives on.
    
   But right now--what better way to celebrate our 20th anniversary than to dote over some Maltese puppies! :o) We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them.

2. The Tail of Eight Generations
    
   
    
   There once was a princess, named Kelly's Princess Penelope (shown at left with Sara), who grew up to become the matriarch of the Kellys Maltese kingdom. When Penelope, or Penny as the Kellys called her, was just a young maiden, it came to pass that she married a young prince from Fantasyland named Tiger Paws, himself already a Champion of the Maltese.
    
    
   
    
   And Penny begat Kelly's Penny Candy, whom the Kellys called Candy (shown at right).
    
   
    
    
   And Candy begat Kelly's He's My Candy Man (shown at left), who became a national Champion of the Maltese. Now Candy Man, or KC as he was called, begat Kelly's She's My Buttermint, whom the Kellys call Minty; and Minty became the Mother of two Champion males, the Grandmother of another Champion male, and the Great Grandmother of a female Champion of the Maltese. But that is a different story.
    
   Anyway, Minty, who is the self-appointed Den Mother of the Kellys Maltese, and to this day makes it her mission to wash the faces of every puppy and dog that she can lay her tongue on, begat Kelly's Peppermint Paddy and they call him Pepper. Pepper became an International Champion of the Maltese, and then he begat Princess Myaku, who is called Mya. And Mya begat Kelly's Popcorn And Candy, and they call her Poppy. Then, Poppy begat Puppy, and thus we reach the end of our tale. For Poppy's Puppy, being the eighth generation direct descendent of Kelly's Princess Penelope, has become the heiress of the Kellys Maltese Kingdom.
