Preparing a video for delivery on the web turned out to be quite an
undertaking, but we've done it.  The Theater of the Maltese presents
"Minty's Boy," a male Maltese puppy featured in two streaming videos at The

3.  Foul weather gear

The Maltese breed are fairly hearty in many respects.  However, from our
experience, they are not quite as tolerant to temperature extremes as some
other breeds might be.  If a Maltese is in full coat, hot climates will be
uncomfortable for them--a Maltese's body temperature runs about 2 degrees
higher than humans.  Conversely, if their coat is cut-down, they won't want
to spend much time outside if it's cold out there.

Another important fact about the Maltese breed to consider, with respect to
temperature climes, is that they have no undercoat.  That means that even if
they are in full coat, they won't be able to tolerate cold temperatures for
long periods of time.  But as we all know, little doggies have to go outside
to do their exercise and what-not, regardless of what the weather is like.

That's where the foul weather gear comes in.  Your little one will be much
more comfortable and able to withstand the elements if they are wearing a
sweater, coat, or possibly even a rain coat, when the foul weather arrives

We have more grooming secrets we'd like to share with you, including such
topics as:  how to reduce tear staining, whitening existing stains, how to

show-like coat on your Maltese, pedicures, cutting and trimming the coat,
and more.  We've just had so much going on at once here that I haven't had
the time to draft up the articles, but I wanted to let you know what kind of
tips will be on the way in future issues.
